Villeréal is the nearest village and is known as one of the most beautiful bastides in this area. The village is almost on the border of the department Dordogne and is known for its centuries-old market hall in half-timbered style. In the town itself, you can find several restaurants. The fortress of Monflanquin is classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France. In this village, you will find streets and squares in a checkerboard pattern, half-timbered façades decorated with plants and flowers, characteristic buildings such as La Maison du Prince Noir (the house of the Black Prince), numerous 'pontets' (covered passage between two houses), the central square surrounded by arcades and the church of Saint André. Like many other bastides, Monflanquin has an eventful history.

This city, 30 km away, is full of culture, gastronomy and nature. Bergerac is a large city situated at the Dordogne river in the department with the same name and is situated on the pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostella. The medieval centre is really beautiful. Bordeaux is known all over the world for its wines. An important landmark in the city is the Pont de Pierre, the bridge over the Garonne River. Another place of interest is the Place des Quinconces, which is known as the biggest square in France. Here you can imagine yourself in a film set, following in the footsteps of the musketeers. The medieval character of the town has been preserved and this is why historical films are sometimes filmed here. Although Sarlat has suffered the consequences of the Hundred Years War, many traces of the Middle Ages are still visible in the town. There are beautiful buildings and monuments with medieval origins to admire. In the squares, there are several cosy restaurants, where you can have lunch in a medieval atmosphere.
